Canford Weir

A traditional weir and stretch of the River Stour situated downstream of Baileys, Purchase’s & Chissell’s.  Canford School includes short stretches on both southern and northern banks. It also includes access to the productive weir pool from the northern bank. Barbel, Chub and Bream are all present to specimen size. There are also some brown trout.

DIRECTIONS
SOUTHERN BANK 
  • Park as for Oakwood Park.

  • Walk down the drive past the school entrance.

  • Limit is between boathouse and gatehouse.

NORTHERN BANK 
  • Cross the pedestrian suspension bridge.

  • Access to the fishery is downstream as far as the Christchurch sign and includes the weir pool.

FISHERY RULES
  • Closed seasons enforced see rule 2 of the Club’s General Rules of fishing in the Membership Book. No fishing for coarse fish 14th March to 16th June.

  • No parking within the School’s grounds.

  • No access to the School.
