Hello fellow game fishers,

It looks as if we are going to be in for a long hot summer. July saw continued dry and warm conditions across Dorset, with below average rainfall and above average temperatures. It has impacted all our waterways, lakes and streams.

This means already that the lake levels are dropping like a stone and conditions are not going to get any easier for the foreseeable future.

Dear Game fishers,

RAWLSBURY

The latest news at Chapmans lake is that the works are nearly complete but it will take some time for the lake to fill. A vast amount of silt has been scraped from the margins and a wider channel created close to the fishing hut. It’s been a fantastic effort by all those concerned and we must thank them for this.

Hello fellow game fishers,

I think apart from a few days of rain May has been one of the driest months on record and we have all been treated to some stunning weather. We have also had reports of increasing insect life this spring. The indications are that hatches of mayfly were earlier than normal this year.
