Pinnock Lakes

A venue consisting of two estate lakes situated close to the bank of the River Crane near  the village of Edmondsham. Medleys Lake was dredged and re-stocked in 2019 and contains tench, crucian carp, roach and some chub.  It is important to keep the crucian carp in Medley’s pure please by not moving carp to this lake (see rule about no fish movement).

DIRECTIONS
  • From Wimborne take the B3078 towards Cranborne

  • After about 9 miles you will pass a sign to the heavy horse centre. Approx. half a mile past this sign you arrive at a crossroads

  • Turn right here, signposted to Edmondsham

  • Follow this road to a T junction and turn right.

  • Drive to the village and follow the road to the left, signposted Cripplestyle

  • Drive over the hill and follow the road until a small red brick bridge

  • The fishery entrance is on the left

  • Please take extreme care when entering and leaving the fishery

The complex offers the pleasure angler the ideal retreat from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

The smaller top lake is the ideal location for traditional float fishing.  It has a good head of roach, tench, crucian carp and some chub. It provides an opportunity  for young anglers to catch using whips and simple rigs.

The complex also includes fly fishing on the River Crane, a narrow chalkstream which is ideal for stalking wild brown trout which inhabit this short stretch. Before fishing this water, you will need to book it with the Game Secretary as it has to be very lightly fished; the email address for this is:
