New Hut Up and Running!
Good news amongst the heat — the new hut at Winterborne Zelston is finished and looking great. Bench space for fly tying, storage, and a picnic table out front for anyone who fancies a brew and a chat between sessions. Well worth a look next time you're down that way.

The Lake — Why We've Had to Close
These photos were taken this week and speak for themselves really. With the heatwave and no proper rain for weeks, the margins have dropped right back, and you can see the algae and weed starting to carpet the shallows. Low lake levels and high water temperatures means WZ just doesn't hold enough oxygen for the fish to cope with being played and netted on top of everything else they're already dealing with.

So — all waters stay closed until we've had a decent, sustained spell of rain to bring levels and oxygen back up. Not just a shower. We'll let everyone know the moment that's the case. Thanks for bearing with us, and enjoy the new hut in the meantime!

A few shots from Rawlsbury this week for anyone wondering how the lakes are holding up while WZ's been struggling.

With the water temperatures dropping the lakes at Rawlsbury are looking relatively clear with no signs of algae present. The only problem at the moment is the amount of weed which will need clearing before we can open up and stock the lakes. So we will be calling for a work party to carry out necessary maintenance of the margins and weed cutting as soon as possible.
